Educational Activities

Education is what makes people bloom. To cultivate our minds, at every regular meeting, the club arranges for an educational program to be presented. These programs feature expert speakers covering topics important to the club and the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs (FFGC). We’ve recently learned about wildlife, composting, landscape maintenance, container gardening, plants suited to Florida gardens, edibles, invasive plants, floral arrangements, garden ponds, local history and more. We’ve held workshops on floral design and taken many informative field trips. Members often take part in seminars and classes held by FFGC, as well as join in the activities of fellow Federated clubs. The website blog, features articles which introduce readers to new information and much is gleaned by sharing our own experiences with each other, when we gather for meetings and meals. We love to learn and grow together!
