November Flower Show

Welcome one, welcome all to a standard flower show entitled, “Kaleidoscope of Holidays” presented by The Homosassa River Garden Club. This event is open and FREE to the public, held at the Homosassa Public Library on Friday, November 13, 2015; 1:00 -5:00 pm; and Saturday, November 14, 2015; 10:00 am-3:00 pm.

The Homosassa River Garden Club is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc.; and use their “Handbook for Flower Shows” as a guideline to grow, design, stage, exhibit and judge, to create an award-winning flower show event. The goal of the “Kaleidoscope of Holidays” standard flower show is to educate, cultivate interest in horticulture, stimulate interest in floral design, provide an outlet for creative expression and impart the objective of The National Garden Clubs, Inc. to their membership and the viewing public.

At the “Kaleidoscope of Holidays” Flower Show you will be able to survey the “Garden Reflections” Horticulture room. This division of the event, confirms the Garden Club members’ “green thumbs” with their pristine plant specimens and container grown plants in the hope of winning the admiration of fellow gardeners and the Judges’ blue ribbon.

As you canvass the Homosassa Public Library floor, you will experience another component of the Flower Show call the “Division II-Design” that encompasses three sections. This is a collection of holiday themed floral designs, groupings of functional/exhibition table designs, and two (2) gardening exhibits. Each entry is evidence of the Garden club members’ attributes and will be evaluated by a panel of National Garden Clubs judges. The Homosassa River Garden Club members will be very happy to escort you around the flower show and answer any of your questions. We hope to see you there!

The Homosassa River Garden Club are members of the National Garden Clubs Inc., Deep South Region, Florida Federation of Garden Clubs Inc., and FFGC District V.
