National Pollinator Week June 18-24

Florida Bee PollinatorThis year’s official Pollinator Week has come to a close. Pollinators were the first gardeners and Florida is lucky to be graced with a multitude of critters who visit our flowers.  Bees, butterflies,  beetles, moths, wasps, flies, even ants and least not forget the humming birds. Much attention has been given to the plight of Honeybees and CCD. This is even more reason for us to encourage our native pollinators. To learn more about Pollinator Week, check out their website at http://pollinator.org/index.html. Also explore US Fish and Wildlife’s page on what you can do, http://www.fws.gov/pollinators/PollinatorPages/YourHelp.html.
